You can find quite a few sports that you can really have fun with while in the water, such as water skiing, diving, fishing, surfing and also skimboading. This sport is much like surfing but not as tough as you do not need to ride any waves, but instead you only need to stand on a skimboard and glide along the water right on top of the waters surface as it recedes back to the ocean.
The difference between surfing and skimboarding is that with surfing you are waiting for that one big wave to come towards the shore, but with skimboarding you shall only be waiting for the waves to move towards the shore and as it recedes back out to the ocean is when you will then go into the water with the board.
When it comes to skimboarding, which is quite simple, all you do is simply skimming on the waters surface with only a few inches of water below you while it recedes back as a wave come moving in. And as a result, you shall not really be spending too much time on the board, but the time you do have will be only for some fun.
Should you not know how to skimboard, all it really takes is for you to start out onto the shore where you will be waiting for the right type of wave to come along. Once the wave does come towards you just wait until the water begins to go back out away from the shore, it is then that you need to run out in the water and get yourself on an angle and then just thrown down the skim board in the water.
Then as the water from the waves begin to recede it is then that you want take the board and while you are running out in the water from an angle just thrown the board down right into the water.
Now after the board is in and sliding along the surface of the water you just simply hop onto the board, now along with your momentum you now only need to keep your balance while on the board so this way you can continue to move forward. Some people like learning tricks, but it is not necessary to do as there is still plenty of fun with just skimming along the shallow water.
