Implementing agile at enterprise level
Abstract
Although Scrum is a simple agile project management process with clear principles, it is not easy to implement at enterprise level. Within a large organizational structure, agile processes cause resistance and are hard to implement effectively. And that's what this session is all about.
We will focus on the most important challenges of implementing Scrum and other agile best practices in large companies. To avoid a purely theoretical talk, we'll use the implementation of Scrum in the ICT department of The Belgian Post as an illustration.
As we will see, implementing agile in a corporate environment such as The Belgian Post includes a lot more than only teaching the development teams how to use Scrum. It's about changing a corporate culture, implementing agile engineering practices and being agile end-to-end.
The incremental learning process of implementing agile is never finished, so also at The Belgian Post we are still facing some challenges. But since we already achieved some remarkable successes, we are happy to share our experiences and findings with you.
